Eduard Streltsov

Eduard Streltsov (1937-1990) is a renown Soviet football player, the Olympic champion title earned in Melbourne in 1956. Streltsov was a forward of Torpedo Moscow team and the USSR National Team. He participated in 222 games and scored 99 goals. He made his first appearance on the field at the age of 17 as a player of the USSR Nation team when he made two hat tricks in two games. He became the best shooter of the USSR Championship when he was 18 and at the age of 19 he earned the Olympic champion title.

 

He was known for his famous football playing feature, namely, heel pass which made it into history as Streltsov style heel pass. The monument was established on 2 May 1998. The monument is authored by Alexander Rukavishnikov.
