Busurina on the occasion of their jubilee!The staff of the Luzhniki Sports Complex congratulates Irina Grigorievna Granaturova and Lyudmila Grigorievna Busurina, Honoured Tennis Coaches of Russia, heads of the Children and Youth Tennis School of the Luzhniki Sports Complex, on their jubilee!
Over several decades, the famous coaching sisters have produced a whole pleiad of athletes who have won the most prestigious awards not only in Russian but also in international competitions.
Irina Granaturova and Lyudmila Busurina were born in Moscow, in a family of professional athletes. Their whole life and professional destiny are connected with sports. Since the 70s they have been Masters of Sports of the USSR. Irina Granaturova played for the Russian national tennis team in the CSKA team, she was the 1974 RSFSR Champion. Irina Grigorievna was the coach of the Russian national team at European and world tournaments for a long time, she is a member of the Coaching Council of the Russian Tennis Federation. Lyudmila Busurina was a member of the CSKA team and repeatedly played for the Moscow and Russian national teams. In 1976 she worked as a senior coach of the Regional Council of DSO ‘Zenit’. Since 1985 Lyudmila Grigoryevna started working as a tennis coach-teacher in ‘Luzhniki’. And two years later, in 1987, Irina Grigorievna also became a coach-teacher.
In 1993, with the direct participation of Irina Granaturova, a children's and youth tennis sports school was opened in Luzhniki, which the sisters still manage. In 2001 the school received the Russian Cup in the nomination ‘The Best Children's Tennis School in Russia’. Its pupils became members of the national team of Moscow and Russia, champions of Europe, Russia and Moscow, winners of the World Cup, champions of the International tournaments ETA and ITF among boys and girls.
The golden fund of the school graduates includes famous tennis players Ekaterina Makarova, Vera Dushevina, Ekaterina Kosminskaya, Alla Kudryavtseva. Anastasia Pivovarova, Konstantin Kravchuk and Sofia Zhuk are also among the tennis elite of the world.
Over the last 5 years the school has trained more than 50 athletes who have achieved significant results in the Russian Tennis Tour, as well as in junior tournaments of the TE series. The coaches' merits were repeatedly recognised by Moskomsport and Luzhniki Sports Complex for their sporting achievements.
